Our Fire Hydrants Are Aging.

The condtion of our fire hydrants raised concerns about their functionality. Ray Worthen contacted Highlands Water and was sent a record of when each hydrant had been exercised and flushed. The HOA will keep this on file for future use. Highlands did not include any flow test data however. The 2024 Utah State Fire Codes require hydrants to be flow tested every five years in accordance with the National Fire Protection Agency, NFPA.

It would be nice to have a record of the flow tests now to compare with tests after the development to the South is complete. But for now Highlands Water has acknowledge full responsibilty for the hydrant maintenace, and have vouched for their operational readiness as required by Utah Code
